Band Booster Meeting 12-13-2022

Meeting called to order at 12:40pm

Approval of November meeting minutes and treasure report: first motion made by Karrie Tuthill; second motion made by Tania Higgins.

Disneyland Trip Jason is hoping to present the Disneyland trip to the school board in January. He cannot present this himself because he is not paying for the trip so Mr. Neely will be the one to do it. The hope is to have the trip in April. The Japan trip is during Spring Break so we can't do the Disney trip during that time. We are shooting for the end of April when the students have a three-day weekend so they will only miss four days of school. The students will not be in the parade, just doing the clinics. If we stay on site, they are able to block the rooms, so the kids don't have access to them during the daytime. A better idea is getting a hotel in Fullerton to save money and also to avoid any issues with the kids going back to the rooms. This hotel also includes breakfast. We will find out what the clinics consist of and whether they need to take their instruments or not. We need to inquire about what food and drinks the kids are allowed to bring into the park.

Winter Concert Winter concert was held last Thursday, and it was great! One thing that needs to be addressed is the program. There were no paper programs, only a QR code to scan. This doesn't work well for everyone, so we need to have some paper programs at the next concert.

Acker Night Acker night was a great success. The Acker foundation gave the band boosters a check for $1,000.00. Jazz band played at the Hike Shack and students rotated playing. Frozen Frannie donated 10 bottles of water for our band students. The kids did a great job with little time to prepare.

Culvers Fundraiser We received a check for $525.00 from Culvers which goes to the students who worked at the event. The raffle produced $148.82 which will go to the band boosters. Culvers was a great success, but we had a lot of kids working the event which made the profit for each child minimal. Next time we will have a limited number of kids working and it will be first come when the sign-up sheet is out. We will try to do multiple events to spread it out among all the kids, so they all have an opportunity to earn some money for their trip.

Silent Auction Thank you so much to Lisa for doing such an amazing job!!! Everything looked so great! We raised $1,086.00 at the silent auction and $25.00 in donations. Also, the bake sale made $301.00.

Stocking Stuffer Bizarre Stocking stuffer bizarre is coming up this Saturday. Set up is between 8:30-9:30am. Jennifer and Lisa will set up and work the morning shift, and Lani and Leslie will work the afternoon shift from 12:30-4:30pm. We have at least seven people making and donating items to sell. We have two slots at the event so we will have plenty of room. We are not asking the band kids to work at this event. All profits will go to the band boosters.

Financials There are still six kids who haven't paid the tailgating fee. Lani just needs a response and wants to make sure she has the right e-mail for those students. Lani also needs to collect a few receipts for past band booster purchases.

Uniform Cleaning We should get the marching band uniforms cleaned in January or February. The district pays for this with tax credit money and does not come out of the band booster money. Meeting closed at 1:24pm
