PHS Band Boosters minutes July 2022

Attendees: Jason Taurnis (New PHS music director), Jennifer Whittemore (President), Tania Higgins (Secretary), Lani Pierie (Treasurer) Traci Rainey (MHF coordinator) 12:30pm: Karrie Tuthill ( Member at large/Orchestra parent), Sara Davis (parent). 12:40pm…KIm Beard (Guard director), Tim Brantley ( volunteer percussion instructor).

Jason Taurnis’ first meeting as the new PHS music director.

(Mile High Music Festival update: Traci Rainey)

• Traci requesting $5,000 for MHF.

• Traci R. asked Jason T. for program speed sheet.

• Traci R. & Tania H turned in paperwork to city of Prescott for MHF.

• Jason to notify office that no one is to park in south lot night before and day of MHF. Approval of minutes & Treasury report: Lani P. Tania H. 2nd.

• Karrie Tuthill voted in as new Member at Large.

• Disneyland Ca. trip planned for April 2023.

• Jason T. wants to take music department to Normandy, France June of 2024.

• Jason T. requested to go to 2 music clinics himself this school year.

• Jason requested new percussion equipment, (Drum stands roughly around $1,600.)

• Jason T. wants new uniforms in the future.

• Kim B. wants $5,000 each for guard equipment, uniforms., winter guard and winter percussion. ( Boosters approved $5,000 total for Guard, Winter Guard and Winter percussion)

• Decided $80- per child for food for Marching Band season.

• Find out info about fingerprinting.

• Fundraisers throughout the year:

• Car wash (August- October).

• Papa Murphy pizza cards (Fall time)

• World's Greatest chocolate candy bars (Spring time)

• Spaghetti dinner in February 2023.

• Snacks bar for graduation..?

• Talked about Marching around Las Fuentes and decided Spring time was a better time to go.

• Boosters planned budget for the 2022/23 school year and will approve it at the next meeting,

• Marching Band pictures Saturday August 27 2022 at the courthouse square. 10AM

• Next meeting August 9 2022 RST at 12:130pm
