Prescott High School Band Booster Meeting Minutes 5-9-23

Meeting called to order at 12:32pm

Attendees: Tania Higgins, Leslie Schuster, Jason Taurins, Jennifer Whittmore, Lisa Dauchenhousen, Stacey Braithwaite.

Band will be playing at the graduation on May 26th. There is a dress code for this event. Button up shirts and slacks, no jeans. Nice dresses. Kids need to stay through the entire graduation. Kids need to be there at 6pm.

Disneyland was a success and the kids had a great time. It was nice to have the orchestra kids and band kids hanging out together. We are still waiting for the recording of the clinic.

Last concert was great and it was nice to recognize our seniors.

We will be going to one checking account as planned to avoid the 10 dollar fee. Lani will keep track of the kids' individual funds.

Our potluck is planned for Monday, May 15th. Mr. Taurins will make up a sign up sheet so we know who is coming, how many, and what food they will be bringing. Awards will be passed out in the theater after the potluck. Raskins will do the engravings on the trophies and plaques. Mr. Taurins will swing by Raskins this afternoon.

We need to get the letters passed out for our students who have been in band, orchestra, guard or jazz band, for at least three years. Those letters will be distributed at the potluck/awards night.

Allen Perkins is our new band director.

Band camp will be July 17th-22nd, and July 24th-28th.

Every Tuesday in June will be an optional band practice and this Friday will be the jazz band tryouts at 3pm.

June 13th will be a lunch meeting at Wild Flower at 12:30. We will be voting in the board members at this time.

Starting in July we will possibly be moving the meetings to evenings so we can have more parents join.
